Over the past few years, I have tried a number of various dog supplies and accessories for my rescue dogs. Some worked well and others were not so good. I am happy to share with you what worked best in my quest to raise healthy, happy dogs.
The three primary attributes that I sought in most products were safety, effectiveness, and something the dogs liked. In some cases, such as with head halters, I probably liked the product better than my dogs! But they were tolerant, if not thrilled. The safety and effectiveness of head halters outweighed how much they liked them.
I researched numerous articles and product descriptions for just about all of the dog supplies and accessories I bought. I also read the reviews prior to making a purchase. I did not have a lot of money to burn, and returning products was a bit of a nuisance. However, I did end up returning a few things that did not work out as I had hoped. On-line and local pet stores like Amazon, Petco, and Chewy were great about returns if within the 30-60 day return period.
So, here are my recommendations for products that both my dogs and I give a paws up:
